Road closure, for a long long time!

Traffic detour along Discovery Creek area of San Marcos thru out summer and into 2023.

Via Vera Cruz is closed south of W San Marcos Blvd to Applewilde for the rest of the year (it's a major construction and bridge widening). I went thru there on Tuesday heading back home from going to play with Mt Whitney & Double Peak. The uphill side of Via Vera Cruz starting from Discovery was closed and raised a good 6 feet or more higher than the downhill lane... I think to match the level of the new bridge that's going in. It'll be awesome when this thing is finished... and climbing up Via Vera Cruz would be a bit less painful. 😉

Bent St bridge is open and connected to Craven.

Discovery St is closed from Applewilde to Via Vera Cruz (utilities stuff going in) for the summer.

So... the usually tranquil Applewilde Dr bike route is going to be full of car traffic for a while. Better use the bike path further south that runs from Lakeview Park to LaNoche instead.
